Jami's Intro to Yoga - 4-Week Series (1 hour)
This fun and easy class series is the perfect way to jump start your yoga practice. Jami provides a relaxed and entertaining environment which encourages questions, curiosity and exploration. It's a no-stress way to help decide if yoga is right for you. Take the whole 4-week series or jump into a class or two, either way you'll be learning the basics of standard poses, alignment, the differences between various yoga classes as well as yoga etiquette. We'll even have an introduction into some of the Sanskrit words you'll hear in yoga classes. Once you've taken this series, you'll be prepared to join one of our other beginner friendly classes.
Next series in 2019 runs Jan 22, Jan 29, Feb 5th and Feb 12th. Tuesdays at 6 pm.
Restorative Yoga (1 hour 15 min)
This class invites deep nurturing, receptivity, and internal inquiry and slowed down pace. Restorative yoga is done seated or lying down. No standing sequences are offered. The use of props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps gently eases one into opening the energy over a 75 minute session. A total of 5-8 poses will be introduced in each class along with the possibility of breathing exercises and or a short meditation. Created especially for those under stress, in need of slowing down, for those in deep processing or in need of internal balance, for beginners, for those with injuries, special needs and trauma. Restorative Yoga is for Everyone!
Mondays: 6:00 to 7:15 pm with Angela
Beginners Yoga (1 hour)
This is a flow yoga class for all sizes, shapes, ages and abilities. The focus will be on form and alignment going through basic yoga Asanas (poses), with plenty of guidance if you are new to yoga. This class is a fun and relaxed way to begin or continue your yoga practice in a small and supportive environment. This class will give you increased flexibility and stress relief. Mats and props are available.
Thursdays 6 p - 7:15 pm with Lauren
Foundational Flow (1 hour)
Foundational Flow is appropriate for beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. This alignment-based class focuses on building strength and endurance while breaking poses down into modifications and basic elements to build confidence in your practice. The practice begins by warming up the body, then progresses into a powerful flow moving with the fluidity of breath. Our focus will be on posture, form and alignment. The class ends by cooling the body with a deep relaxation.
